Mysore Bed and Breakfast

An early photo, see how much it’s changed in the next photo.

Mysore Bed and Breakfast

Is in an ordinary house, about ten minutes in auto rickshaw from the palace in the centre of Mysore.

So it provides a good balance residing in a quiet residential area with plenty of character, local public gardens, close to numerous tourist attractions and being easily accessible to the Palace and Market just ten minutes away

Plants have taken over our home!

We rent out two (four at busy times of the year) rooms in our shared home. A stay at the BnB includes a good breakfast (usually fruit, toast, mushrooms, scrambled egg, tea/coffee) outdoor sit-out, living room, sun terrace, library, guest kitchen, and WIFI. There are fans but no A/c.

It’s very much sharing our home and it’s most P1030966definitely not a hotel.

We’re ‘family friendly’ with a downstairs kitchen, so you can prepare your own drinks and food, a small library of children’s books and a separate area can sometimes be arranged to give more sleeping space for little ones.

Don’t take our word for it, check the reviews on Trip Advisor, left by our wonderful guests. That’s where our guests place our reviews rather than on google where all and sundry place reviews.

We’re at no 1 in Mysore and listed as Mysore Bed and Breakfast but do book direct.

      Mysore Bed and Breakfast

Is in a two floor house, in a quiet residential area about ten minutes in auto rickshaw from the palace in the centre of Mysore.

We rent out four rooms with double beds. There are two on each floor and there’s an attached toilet shared between each pair of rooms and two bathrooms also shared. There’s lots of communal living space with two lounges, dining area, a small outdoor sit out, downstairs and a roof terrace with plants.  It costs 2000 Rs  per room per night, for two people sharing or 1500 Rs single occupancy.

The rate includes a good breakfast (usually fruit, toast, mushrooms, scrambled egg, tea/coffee, although pancakes are becoming a firm favourite) bed, sheets, fluffyish towels, guest kitchen, and WIFI.  There are fans but no A/c.

It’s very much sharing our home and it’s most definitely not a commercial hotel. There are sometimes home cooked Indian vegetarian meals available, these are prepared by Manjula but are not included in the price. We ask you to decide what to pay for the meal. If its planned ahead we can sometimes provide Indian breakfast. We can also cater for different dietary needs, please let us know in advance.

We endeavour to be family friendly. The downstairs can be almost self-contained with its own kitchen so ideal for families and with baby sitting on site! We can even now cater for young children on our srirangapatnam cycle tours.

The team at the BnB are Manjula who holds it all together, Lucie the dog (who is excitable and licks toes but is generally well behaved) and me, the booking clerk. We’re ably assisted by Vasanth who drives the auto and organises transport. The broader team includes our cleaners, gardener and independent drivers.

To make a reservation just send an email detailing what you require. We don’t ask for a deposit as its all based on trust but we do request you to let us know at least a week beforehand if your plans change so that we can rebook the room.
